It’s no secret that nothing gets Pakistanis’ blood pumping, nerves popping, emotions heightened than discussions around food. We’re foodies through and through, after all. Whether it’s the infamous “roti khol dou” at shaadis, Sunday ko brunch pe halwa poori and nihari or simplythinking to ourselves, “aaj raat ko kuch mazay ka khatay hein” – our lives basically revolve around food. And it’s not just about food but about our distinct preferences on things just the way we like them.
A few questions plaguing the internet since the beginning of time are: Biryani with or without aloo, samosa vs samosa chaat, chicken karahi or mutton karahi?
Keeping that in mind, Minal Khan asked fans to guess what her preference is between biryani
Soon joined by Uzair Jaswal
Anoushay Ashraf also posted about her love for biryani
Sarah Khan clearly couldn’t ever say no to Pakistan’s (informal) national dish
This kinda, sorta started a debate ~
There was “team aloo”
Quickly dubbed as team “palao“
Those who preferred their biryani without any “vegetables“
Between all of the madness and arguments, asal foodies came forward who just liked biryani for biryani, regardless of whether it was with or without aloo
Other Pakistani celebrities have also come forward with such polls after the release of 7up’s recent foodies campaign igniting food related conversations
Ahsan Khan being one of them:
Funny man Ahmed Ali Butt isn’t too sure about chicken karahi or mutton karahi – hmmmm, not an easy choice.
Model and fashionista Cybil Chowdry is siding with either samosa or samosa chaat (we really don’t know yet)
Pretty sure food wars are only just beginning. We wonder who will be joining in next 🤔🤔🤔
So, do you like Biryani with or without aloo? Are you team samosa or samosa chaat? Chicken karahi pe dil qurbaan hai or do you always crave the big pieces of mutton? Let us know in the comments section below.
