Sham Idrees’ friend Mac kept a roza…
Suffice to say, Sham Idrees’ trip to Pakistan was anything but boring and Sham made sure to document literally every second of it along the way. This was a trip, that I’m sure Sham and Froggy will remember, for better or worse, for a long time.
While some bridges were burned and some mended, it was nice to see Sham Idrees go back to Canada
No offence to him, but well yeah a little offence to him, it was a lot of content to cover. Anywho, after arriving back in Pakistan, Sham made the most Sham kind of YouTube video ever. He asked his white friend to do something brown.
Sham’s gora friend Mac decided to keep a roza for a day with Sham and it actually turned out to be a really sweet experience.
Wasn’t expecting that right?
Mac, Sham’s friend in Canada and team Rebel member, wanted to see what it would be like to fast along with Sham and experience the month of Ramazan. 12 hours in, you can see that Mac was both hungry and parched but gotta give it to him cause he said he wanted to keep going and feel out the entire experience.
So let’s start with sehri, shall we?
Sham put a nice little feast together for Mac and himself. It was cute, like a little boys picnic. Sham made eggs and Mac made faces at how bad the eggs were but it’s all good because the two of them washed it over with glasses of lassi. Also, my bad if you’re reading this before iftari cause same.
Later in the day, Mac and Sham went on a joyride using Sham’s shiny toys. Motorcycles, cars, you name it. So obviously the boys were distracted all day but as soon as iftari rolled around, it was nice to see everyone sitting around the table with family and friends, ready to take their first bites of food.
It also happened to be Sham’s cutie parents anniversary too.
Finally, when Mac tried a date and opened his fast, he pretty much didn’t want to talk cause he wanted to eat.
Same, totally get it no hard feelings.
And when it came to interviewing time, Mac actually had some pretty nice things to say about the whole experience.
Obviously, his fave part was iftari, as is the same for most of us. But Mac genuinely seemed like he came out as a better person from the experience, learning to appreciate even the smallest things in life and instilling discipline in oneself.
He knew he could immediately go and open the fridge and eat or drink but wanted to stay committed to really learn the lesson and even said that the values taught from this fast were some that he wished to be celebrated every day instead of just in one month.
Also, he loved jalebis.
So all in all, the whole experience was a sweet and wholesome one without having any kind of subliminal messaging or subtext, so maybe Sham really is growing up. He still puts way too much gel in his hair though so maybe not but you never know.
