Things only an only daughter in Pakistan understands
You know how people say, ‘Baitiyaan Ghar Ki Rehmat Hoti Hain‘? So I met Rehmat the other day and she told me some interesting bits of information. Being an only daughter has its perks. Especially in a Pakistani family.
Lets see how it’s actually like being Rehmat every single day:
1. You get pampered like a queen by your family.
2. You get the first pick on everything.
3. Everyone in the family makes it their life’s purpose to inquire when you’re getting married.
4. You have a very vivid imagination since you’ve had so much time to spend on your own as the only daughter in your family in Pakistan.
5. Your family is a little (read: lot) overprotective about you.
6. You have played the ‘only daughter in Pakistan’ card many times shamelessly.
7. You are closest to your mom and she’s your best friend.
8. But you’re also daddy’s little girl, ‘baba ki aankhon ka tara’.
9. As the only daughter of your family in Pakistan you have manipulated your way in and out of many situations.
10. No matter what, you’re always the favorite child.
11. You have developed unrealistic expectations about how other men should treat you.
12. You get the most attention.
13. You get away with doing a lot of shit, as the only daughter of your family in Pakistan.
14. It is assumed that you are a spoiled brat (which you probably are).
15. Your opinion matters. Like seriously.
16. As the only daughter in Pakistan, you’ve never had to share your room.
17. You really wish you had a sister to play with while growing up.
18. Now because you’re an only daughter in Pakistan, you’ve come to learn that you’re not a big sharer.
19. Your tolerance for being teased is very low.
20. You didn’t really “play” well with others as a child.
21. Your parents have A LOT of expectations of you because after all, you’re an only daughter in Pakistan.
22. You have been asked many times, ‘aap aik he beti ho’?
23. While you may have gotten lonely at times, as an only daughter in Pakistan, you’re also fiercely independent.
The struggle is real, ladies.
