The antagonistic nature of the Indo-Pak relations is often the most highlighted element, no thanks to all the recent hatred being spewed by the media and celebrities across the border. Despite the bitter realities and harsh incidents, a little good exists on both sides of the border.

Amid recent hostilities and the escalating tensions between the neighboring countries, Pakistani authorities temporarily suspended the departure of Samjhauta Express

Samjhauta Express is a train service which connects Lahore and Attari. The service facilitates travel across the borders and is available on Monday and Thursday.

Upon the temporary suspension of the service, Pakistani citizens stranded on the Attari station were served with refreshment by the Indian Punjab Police

Approximately 50 passengers Pakistani travelers were stuck at the Attari railway station in India. The prolonged period of wait led to hunger and a very warm gesture was shown by the Indian Punjab Police. The police officers served the food and water on their own to the travelers.

Their effort was highlighted by the official twitter account of the Indian Punjab police

The effort by the Indian Punjab police deserves appreciation and should be highlighted to ensure that people on both sides of the border feel the warmth of this gesture. Though both the countries are witnessing another low in their relations still the desire for peace is clearly reflected by such actions.
