Kangana is going after Alia Bhatt
Kangana’s had more than her fair share of publicity on social media lately
Due to her movie ‘Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi’, Kangana has been literally everywhere. It’s a story about a young woman, who was one of the leading figures in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and her resistance to the British Rule. Kangana describes the movie as an important watch about “nationalism”.
Although her movie has been decently successful thus far, it didn’t stop her from calling out a couple of actors along the way
Kangana called out a few actors including Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. I’m sure you guys kept up with the whole Alia Bhatt fiasco, Alia even apologized. But it doesn’t seem like Kangana’s accepted the apology because once again, she’s slamming Alia for her performance in ‘Gully Boy’.
So what happened this time?
A poll recently asked fans to vote for the best performance by a female actor in 2019 so far. While Kangana had the lead at 37%, and Alia Bhatt was at 33%. Yep. A close-call. And forget us, it set Kangana off. The website actually contacted Kangana for her response towards the results in the poll and she told it all.
Kangana said she was “embarrassed” that her name was in competition with Alia as her performance in ‘Gully Boy’ was “mediocre.”
She questioned the public, “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boyperformance?”. And explained that Alia’s Gully Boy performance had the “same snappy munhphatt girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please,” Kangana said that mediocre work has been pampered and “media has taken filmy kids love too far” and if it continues, “the bar will never be raised”.
Some tough love it seems like.
Whether or not ‘Gully Boy’ was praised by Kangana, it has been praised by many others
‘Gully Boy’ actually has a higher rating on IMDB at 8.4 while ‘Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi’ is only at 6.8. ‘Gully Boy’ was also played at the Berlin Film Festival where it got a standing ovation from the audience.
This is definitely not the first time Kangana’s attacked Alia. Yeah, we know Kangana attacked Alia for not supporting her film, she called her “spineless” and a “puppet” of Karen. Kangana also lashed out at Alia and her current boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor for not being anti-Pakistani. Seems to me Kangana has a personal problem.
