During the success party of Kangana’s latest venture and directorial debut ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi,’ the actress addressed the media alongside her co-star Ankita Lokhande to answer the usual trope of questions by the Indian media. Everything was fine before things got a little awkward after someone from the media asked the actress her thoughts on politics and she started attacking fellow actors.
After various questions surrounding her film, the media asked her about her role in politics and if she’s interested in entering the field.
When asked about whether or not she was interested in getting into politics, Kangana said she had “zero interest” in becoming a politician (despite having some very controversial opinions on how Pakistan should be obliterated).
The actress told Indian publication ‘The Times Of India that “the film industry is full of such anti-nationals who boost enemies’ morals in many ways, but right now is the time to focus on decisive actions… Pakistan ban is not the focus, Pakistan destruction is.”
The actress then said that she had recently seen an interview with famous film critic Anupama Chopra and mentioned two actors – Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt who refused to discuss politics.
She sarcastically copied what they allegedly said during it, ‘hum politics ke baare mein kyun bolein humne toh kuch nahi kiya.’
She then went on a tirade against Ranbir Kapoor and quoted him to have said that “he has gas and electricity in his house, why should he be involved in politics?”
She attacked his luxurious life, stating that even if he does own a “Mercedes,” it’s still his job and responsibility to be involved with what’s going on in the country. She said that “yeh desh ki waja se aap ka ghar hai…how can you talk like that?”
She went onto mock Ranbir and imitated him dramatically, saying “hum toh filmein mein kaam karne wale hain hum kaise politics ke baare mein baat karein?”
The actress denounced Ranbir’s attitude as “irresponsible” and implied that these actors feared their careers over their country. She went onto imply that Ranbir didn’t care for his country. She then urged the media to pressurize actors and ignite change and force them to speak up.
“Itna kya career pyaara hogaya hai inko ke inko desh ki kuch nahi pari wi?” Kangana turned it on the media and said it’s not her obligation to force actors to speak up, but the media’s.
