Kangana Ranaut is a fierce, bold woman. She’s a force to be reckoned with at every step. Her blunt nature has managed to ruffle some feathers throughout the realm of Indian cinema and she’s as proud as one can be.
So, just to recap a bit on the Kangana Ranaut-Alia Bhatt fiasco:
Kangana has recently ventured into the world of direction with her latest release, ‘Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi‘, as her directorial debut. The film has been receiving a lot of praise and Kangana, as always, has managed to bag compliments for her exceptional performance in her period feature film.
However, not everyone, as per Kangana, has stepped in and shown support for her.
Kangana has always been loud and clear that she’s not happy about how things in Bollywood are. She has, time and again, called out the fraternity for its love for nepotism and its unrealistic and incomprehensible obsession with star kids. Her feud with KJO is something every Bollywood fan knows about. And recently, she dragged Alia Bhatt into it as well.
Well, it isn’t exactly because of Karan Johar, but there is a slight connection. Kangana told an Indian publication, Pinkvilla, that neither Aamir Khan nor Alia Bhatt have shown support for her film, which was a huge disappointment for her.
Talking about her phone call to Alia, Kangana revealed some rather bitter comments she made to the starlet.Ā
“I [suggest] that she grows [a] spine and supports an important film about woman empowerment and nationalism. If she doesnāt have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJoās puppet then I donāt consider her successful,ā
Oof.
Kangana also reminded Alia how her celebrity background won’t help her much if she continues to ride the nepotism bandwagon.
Despite Kangana’s unsettling remarks, Alia has decided to steer clear from the phaddaĀ which seemed to be inevitable until now. Dealing with things in a rather mature manner, Alia decided toĀ come forth with an apology to clear the air.
According to Filmfare, Alia is reported to have stated:
“I hope she doesnāt dislike me and I donāt think she dislikes me. I donāt think I have done anything intentionally to upset her.”
Alia is willing to even apologize for her mistake. She reportedly stated:
“If I have [upset her], I will apologize to her on a personal level. I wasnāt aware of this problem or anything, I was busy with the shooting. So yes, what can I say, I donāt want to upset anybody.ā
She even tried to clear the air of all allegations that have been aimed at her. She continued to state:
āI will always support actresses and actors for the films that they do and if they are in any trouble, but this is something personal, which I don’t think is fair for any of us to get into.”
Alia also reminded Kangana that her lack of support was merely a mistake and that she respects her and her work.Ā
Like Kangana, Alia didn’t beat aroud the bush and clarified herself by putting forth her stance as strongly as ever. She added, “Kangana is a strong woman and [a] very outspoken and fab actress. If she ever needs support, I am sure people will stand up for her but I don’t think she gives that feeling that she needs support.ā
Interesting. Seems like things are done and dusted, eh?
