Everyone’s been experiencing the upending of life as we knew it because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The education sector has been one of the areas which had to bear the most consequences of the virus. So, while the teachers and the students got adapted to the ‘new normal’ of online teaching, there were demands for canceling exams. That too led to some weird results that did not make students happy. Well, an important piece of news was announced by the Federal Minister of Education and it appears some people are still not happy.

The Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood announced reopening education sector in Pakistan, in a press conference last night

The Minister said that before reaching this agreement regarding the opening of the institutes, global and regional trends were kept under consideration. He also said experts were consulted and relevant data was collected to ensure that the decision proves to be a thoughtful move.

The Minister explained that the process of opening the educational institutes is well-planned and will systematically allow them to revert back to regular practices.

Universities, colleges, and schools will start operating for the ninth and tenth graders from September 15. The process will continue the resumption of middle school from September 23, and primary school will begin the classes from the September 30, if all goes well.
