Let me just preface this by saying that I do not hate white chocolate. Those white milky bars were a staple in my vast diet when I was a kid. I love chocolate. All chocolate. Perhaps to a fault. But when I think of Nutella, I think of milk chocolate that I will very likely eat straight from the jar.

Now, conditioning is a very strong thing. If I’ve been conditioned into seeing Nutella in a certain flavor, it’s very likely that I may not be the biggest fan of the same when things are switched up a bit. No one likes change.

Besides, 2020 has been chaotic enough.

Now imagine my surprise when I’m scrolling through my feed and I come across…well…you might wanna see for yourself:

For everyone that wanted the white Nutella recipe**, yes this is a recipe***, I got it from @aufstrichqueen_vera who is the Queen of all *hand made* chocolate bar related spreads! It's white chocolate (Milky Bar is my choice) Kinder White schokobons (Not 100% sure if @brucesuperc still has them, if not hazlenut butter is a good substitute), hazlenut butter and oil such as sunflower or vegetable. Now I dont put heaps of oil or preservatives, so it will harden. Make it to your specifications. So mine was 2 blocks of Milky Bar, a bag of Kinder white Schokobons, both crushed and melted, added the oil from the hazlenut butter, a scoop of the hazlenut butter, some hazlenut syrup if you have if and some regular sunflower oil. Mixed it by tasted and then put it in jars. Mine went hard and weird looking after it sat in the jar (hence no preservatives and not much use of the oil, but I heated it and it comes back good as new). If you want that smooth Nutella consistency add more oil and it will stay like normal Nutella but I'd rather it go hard so it's that slightly bit thicker when cooled. Then you can pour it on cheesecakes and dip doughnuts in it and just all round pour that on EVERYTHING. My self included hahahahahaah. So go and let me know of your creations! Spread the word! I don’t mean to exaggerate, but WHY?!

I have nothing against white chocolate. Sure, I have preferences, and maybe I lean towards milk chocolate a tad bit more, but I’d let white chocolate give me the same amount of acne as milk chocolate. But, there’s just something strange about seeing white chocolate Nutella.

With all the fear and panic that has been sweeping across Australia and the world, I have decided that I'm either going to review things I already have or put my money towards local companies in my area such as @terellabrewing, @moto.bar, @the_good_bar & @theministryofcoldbrew or towards places like @brucesuperc & @sushimonsterpantry & @stormiedscupcakery & @frostingcakeryau when buying snacks so I can try and still put money into the Aussie economy and keep supporting local. I had a box of Krispy Kremes frozen in the freezer and these left over white Nutella's and thought that seeing this beautiful sight might just make someone's day. So it's World Nutella day and come on, we all love Nutella. But in the years I have been alive I can not remember any variations on the Nutella front. It's good, it's great, it sells it's self. In spread form, smear on some thing special, pancakes, crumpets, anything.!!!! I made white chocolate Nutella (courtesy of who coined the original recipe @aufstrichqueen_vera) and I took it desert places and ate it with my churros and basically looked like a complete weirdo eating my own nutella. So World Nutella day basically for me is that Nutella need to start stepping it up. Crunchy Nutella, White Nutella, milk and white mix Nutella, Nutella with a hint of coconut, or pretty much any other nut. I did see a variation meant to be coming but it was just more cocoa added and I thought to myself quietly "We don't need that give us peeps some thing new…" Enjoy my super happy photo montage which I show more people than a photo of my child because, you know, white Nutella and we have seen enough kid pics. Anyway, I don’t know. The page that posted it seems to be confident about their recipe. And who am I to rain on their parade? All I’m saying is that I’ve been through enough for one year. Let’s save some stuff for 2021. Please.
