The purpose of fashion is to help people express themselves in an outwardly way. Your clothes and your choice of clothes speaks volumes about how you’re feeling and how you see yourself. That’s the beauty of this industry-it helps people feel good about themselves and helps them be a better version of themselves.
Of course, there are times when the fashion world does its own thing and that’s well within their rights to do so.
Sometimes it works and other times it’s like WTF.
This isn’t one of those times. At the Paris Couture Week, that is currently happening, ‘Victor&Rolf’ decided to take a spin on something we all do every day, but they made it ‘fashion’. Our ‘dil ki awaaz’ usually says one thing, but to be nice, we don’t say anything at all- their latest collection helps cross that bridge by putting your emotions LITERALLY on your sleeves.
A trend that is now being called ‘slogan gowns’ graced the ramp and my oh my, it’s exactly what WE ALL NEEDED.
These dresses took what’s written on random t-shirts found in most markets worldwide, and made it high fashion. These dressed were loud, poofy and just what the doctor ordered.
This dress is perfect for mehndis, especially when people are forcing you to dance, or when you meet that really annoying aunty.
