If you have been keeping up with the World Cup so far, you’ll know that last night’s Argentina vs Nigeria match was a total nailbiter!
Though Messi scored the first goal of the match, the teams’ performance on a whole was severely lacking, and because of this,
Shahbaz Taseer tweeted a VERY premature tweet of how he expected Messi to retire as he assumed Argentina would lose.
Messi to retire from international football in 35 minutes #YouHeardItHere
— Shahbaz Taseer (@ShahbazTaseer) June 26, 2018
Ouch.
Of course, people tried to warn him to not tweet something so ~controversial~
Sir! Please do delete it. And in football prediction might not get true as every minute is the changing point.
— Muhammad Anwar (@Anwar_yakhail) June 26, 2018
And Shahbaz himself quickly realized his mistake soon after and immediately tweeted that he might end up deleting the original tweet.
I will delete this tweet if necessary
— Shahbaz Taseer (@ShahbazTaseer) June 26, 2018
And turns he probably should have deleted the tweet because Argentina ended up winning.
Yikes.
And of course, Messi fans were not about to let Shahbaz live down his mistake.
Time to delete it bruh
— Ali Mumtaz Warraich (@AliMWarraich) June 26, 2018
They wanted to revel in his ‘mistake.’
Delete it now Mr… and dont jump the Gun… u oversmart ass…
— Hameed (@Hameed_Jann) June 26, 2018
And more than anything, everyone just wanted Shahbaz to delete his brain fart.
Delete it dude…
— Observer (@Waqasahmad_Pak) June 27, 2018
Some people weren’t even bothered with his tweet reminding him of past instances.
After some time he will take his decision of retirement back. So we can chill
— Rana (@ranafi9269) June 26, 2018
But I mean, dozens of people asking you to delete your tweet, talk about embarrassing.
Bro, honour your words now. Delete it

Awkward.
