While some of us are still recovering from the bitter defeat we saw last night, there are many who have found their coping mechanisms like humor and moved on to a new day.
The match, which India won by 89 runs, was preceded by puns, mockery, and bitter insults from both ends, mainly through advertisements. Sentiments were at their extremes, and insults were hurled from both ends.
Amidst all this bitterness and rivalry, a half Pakistani-Indian couple chose to rise above the drama with their cool T-shirts
Spotted this couple at the #IndiaVsPakistan @cricketworldcup game and was intrigued by their jerseys! Husband is from Pakistan, wife from India so both stitched up India-Pak jerseys & wore them! Both are Canadians, watching the game in England, rooting for peace #SpiritofCricket pic.twitter.com/KrUjtkjFMn

The couple was spotted sporting half-and-half stitched jerseys of India and Pakistan, reminding us all what the true sentiment of cricket is
While everyone was busy coming up with mean comments to roast each other during the match, the couple decided to shine through, by wearing stitched India-Pakistan jerseys, siding with peace during the match. The man in the picture is said to be from Pakistan and the woman is from India.

People were quick to notice their display of peace and expressed how celebrities are not the only ones we should be looking up to for inspiration to unite
You couldn't get anything better than this, we need to look beyond @MirzaSania & @realshoaibmalik for the real inspiration and unity among the people of #india and #Pakistan #CWC19 #INDvPAK https://t.co/8hsGm5i68a

Border paar pyaar is almost always celebrated among desis because it’s such a beautiful sight to see love blossom even among people from two of the most ruthless rival countries
Media and public’s obsession over celebrity couples like Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik is a testament to this.
People like Sania, Shoaib and this newly famous couple remarkably remind us what we really should be bringing to the game- enthusiasm, love, and sportsman spirit.
We really do need more people like this couple, especially when our borders are so emphasized time and time again. Even though we tend to easily forget, cricket really is just a game. We’ve all endured a 12-hour period of roasting ever since the match has ended, but I guess it’s about time we move on to the next challenge. Besides, Pakistanis must remember, picture abhi baaqi hai. Let’s not forget that we’re still in the game.
