Team Pakistan just lost the test match against Sri Lanka, with the opposing side winning the match by 68 runs after two innings. This was Pakistan’s first “home” series defeat since the grounds for Pakistan moved to UAE because of international teams not coming to the country after the security situation worsened, a few years ago.
After taking out Sri Lanka for 96 runs in the second innings, there were high hopes for our boys in green

But then they all collapsed to 248 all out as the Sri Lankan off-spinner Dilruwan Perera took 5-98

Fans are obviously disappointed
#PAKvSL A year ago No1 and journey to No10 continues, playing in UEA losing to the weakest team just utterly miserable and pathetic show!!

The last time Pakistan lost a home series (Pak/UAE/Eng) was against South Africa in 2007.#PAKvSL

And many are trying to analyze why the team lost and what lessons were learned for the future

And many fans are pointing to one reason
They’re saying that the defeat was because of players who don’t necessarily have the talent or experience for international cricket.
And that should be it for Shan Masood and Sami Aslam as Pakistani openers for a while now.
Fawad Alam Anyone? #PAKvSL

#PAKvSL
Shan Masood & Sami Aslam ! Names like Lollywood stars, in fact they are shittiest openers around— Bilal Hidayat (@BilalHidayat1) October 10, 2017
One player in particular is being held responsible – Shan Masood
Legend Shan Masood departs after an another Superb Knock..! #PAKvSL pic.twitter.com/6rPCgQEYbL
— Saad ?? (@SaadAwais22) October 8, 2017
Fans think he doesn’t deserve to be in the team as compared to some other players who they prefer better
Imagine choosing to send Shan Masood on the war front when you have this killer roaming aimlessly in the streets. https://t.co/cPv6VlMRYz

Hafeez is far better than Sami aslam and shan masood. He should've been selected for this test series! @MHafeez22 #PAKvSL
— Joweria. ? (@JoweriaMalik_) October 9, 2017
And this one just compared Shan Masood’s case to political nepotism that has become a hot topic in Pakistan
Shan Masood is Maryam Nawaz of cricket, no visible talent still selected because of his dad. Nepotism ruining everything in this country.
— Osama. (@ashaqeens) October 9, 2017
Even haters of Ahmed Shehzad would rather prefer to see him play than Shan Masood
Time to say thank you Shan Masood’even @iamAhmadshahzad is more better option then him as test opener #PakvsSL
— Saleem Khaliq (@saleemkhaliq) October 10, 2017
Savage burns were being made
Shan masood ko paseenay tou aise aa rhe hein jese saray runs isne banaye hein.
— Tahreem. (@yyameet) October 9, 2017
Shan masood is playing as fast as bugati 14(84)
— sajjal~ (@_Invincible_88) October 9, 2017
And armchair analysts were putting out theories of their own
Shan Masood is technically very flawed. He can get out at any time. Whatever he scores in this inning will be lucky runs#PAKvSL
— Ali Raza (@AliRazaTweets) October 9, 2017
Somebody even managed to dig up some stats
MashAllah Pak Test Team Opener Shan Masood rank no 4 in Worst openers in Test Cricket during last 10 years.#PAKvSL #PCB @TheRealPCB pic.twitter.com/43MPoKOTFh
— Nisar Hussain (@NisarHussain02) October 9, 2017
To sum it up, people were really fucking disappointed in Shan
I don’t know on what basis Shan Masood gets through? Is ki parchi nahe poora parcha hai #PakvsSL
