Singer Shehzad Roy roasted Imran Khan
Addressing the nation yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that lockdown would be lifted from the country after May 9. With the announcement to lift the lockdown in a phased manner, the PM said it was done because “our poor people are suffering”.
No 1 can tell when we’ll reach our peak in Covid cases. Even the countries that have flattened the curve cannot rule out 2nd, 3rd waves of peak outbreak. #PMImranKhan knows & understands the risks. But only easing the lockdown to some extent because our people are suffering. pic.twitter.com/H8jEjgSFm1

This decision by PM Khan to lift the lockdown came as a sad realization for everyone who was hoping the Government to be help try and maintain some semblance of social distancing
Coronavirus cases recently spiked in Punjab and Sindh. Hospitals in major cities like Lahore and Karachi are already reaching their full capacity while according to some projections, the peak is expected in early June so the easing of lockdown is an even more dangerous decision given these facts.
It is the same poor people, who PM Khan has claimed to be worried about, would suffer the most as they probably won’t be able to afford healthcare costs due to prolonged care for cases of coronavirus that require hospitalization.

At a time when cases and deaths are still rising exponentially. Welfare considerations left to the market; public health measures left to individual responsibility. Let’s just hope for a miracle that can avert disaster. https://t.co/COiK6eLo6k

Singer Shehzad Roy also shared his opinion on PM Imran Khan easing the lockdown
Pretty sarcastic LOL!
Inshallah our nation will strictly follow the SOPs and Mashallah karachi is a very clean city #Covid_19 pic.twitter.com/9lxUjtO3Oq

Some people probably didn’t get Shehzad Roy being sarcastic toward Imran Khan lifting the lockdown
These folks responded to Shehzad’s tweet by telling him that his opinion that expecting a country that was already defying the lockdown to be responsible after the lockdown has officially been lifted is a futile exercise.

While others just assumed that because Shehzad Roy shared his dejection at Imran Khan opening the lockdown it surely has to mean he is the supporter of PM’s opponents

Most people shared how they’re concerned for the public safety that is at risk due to ease of lockdown because a country that was already not respecting social distancing is now officially being allowed to mingle could put so many immunocompromised lives at risk.
if only people were sensible & responsible enough to follow SOPs. So many feel that this whole pandemic is a fluke & is like a regular khansi zukaam.Masks are worn at the moment becuz its mandatory in some places, and not as a safety precaution that they themselves will opt for😷

Well,ur sarcasm is justified but majority of Pakistanis, specially Muslim Pakistanis wud consider dying by corona as something tht is fate whereas dying of hunger wud b pinned on government.
By the way, rest of world is also going for easing lock down due to the financial pressure— 🌋⚓️𝕸𝖎𝖗𝖟𝖆 𝕾𝖆𝖊𝖊𝖉 𝕭𝖆𝖎𝖌⚓️🌋 (@mirza_saeed) May 8, 2020

The Government has essentially made it clear that they’re not taking any responsibility and putting it on the public now to take care of their own selves. While we hope our authorities are better prepared to ensure that cases don’t get out of hand due to the lifting of the lockdown but from what it appears right now this decision could be disastrous, in more ways than one, and the most affected would be the same group of people that PM Khan has claimed to be the reason for lifting the lockdown. So, let’s just hope that we can go through the next few weeks safely.
Stay home, stay safe and stay away from each other.
