Prime Minister Imran Khan Just Made It To Time's 100 Most Influential People List For 2019

Well, that’s one achievement for PM Imran Khan.

 

Prime Minister Imran Khan is on the Time 100 Most Influential People list for 2019.

Time Magazine releases this prestigious list every year, highlighting people from around the world. Imran Khan’s introduction for the Time 100 Most Influential People list was written by Pakistani journalist, Ahmed Rashid. In the introduction, he mentions Imran Khan’s successes in the past; 1992 Cricket World Cup, constructing a world-class cancer hospital and a top-notch university; all for those who can’t afford these facilities otherwise.

And after spending 20 years in Pakistani politics, Imran Khan finally became the Prime Minister of Pakistan, as the country faces numerous issues and is embroiled in debt.

But according to Ahmed Rashid, he still manages to inspire hope in young and old Pakistanis alike. All of this is why Imran Khan has been included in the list.

 

Earlier, Imran Khan was nominated to be on the list in 2012 as well and even gained a lot of votes by the public, but he did not find a spot in the final list which is chosen by the editors of Time Magazine.

But now in 2o19, not only has he become the Prime Minister of Pakistan but he managed to find a spot on the list.

With the recent turmoil Imran Khan’s government has been facing with the public in wake of the price hikes and speculation over the dollar exchange rate rising even further, any news which showcases the Prime Minister in a good light will likely be welcomed with open arms by the government.

 

Another Prime Minister who made it to the Time 100 list is New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern

Her introduction was written by London’s Mayor, Saqid Khan who mentioned the amazing way Jacinda Ardern carried herself in wake of the Christchurch terrorist attack which jolted the country’s Muslim community.

There are people like Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Zayed, Saudi women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul amongst others.
