The New Zealand attacks have brought a new discussion to the fore, particularly for Muslims around the world. The narrative has changed for the world to have finally realized that Muslims are as much victims of these attacks as everyone else. Many have come forth to condemn the white nationalist who terrorized and brutally murdered the Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand. Priyanka Chopra was one of the people who paid their respect, but people are calling her out after it.
Priyanka posted an emotional tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks which took place in Christchurch, New Zealand last Friday

But the response was pretty unexpected – with many people calling her out for her hypocrisy.

People are calling her out because earlier she had shown support for a war by praising Indian forces for their “airstrike” in Pakistan
In the recent tension between Pakistan and India, she posted a tweet saying “Jai Hind” which got a lot of Pakistani’s riled up because she was basically rooting for war.

Ironic isn’t it?
As she’s the UNICEF goodwill ambassador it was pretty much the exact opposite of what her reaction should’ve been. It offended so many, that there was even a petition that was made to remove her from the position of ambassador.
WHAT?!!! But arenāt you supposed to be a Good Will ambassador for @UNICEF? Screen shot this everyone and next time she speaks up for peace and goodwill. Letās remind her of this hypocrisy. https://t.co/Jew88bMtYv

Can the @UN please take back their ambassadorship from Priyanka Chopra ?
Celebs who fuel wars have no reason to be talking about human rights at any forum.
Someone who āapparentlyā works for childrenās rights, needs to be schooled about the impact of war on children?#SayNoToWar— fatiymah (@liya724) February 27, 2019
Now, many aren’t convinced her support is genuine when it comes to the New Zealand attacks.
The video she posted is an animation of two women hugging, one represents a non-muslim, and the other is a Muslim. Then the words “The world is with you” a kiwi bird, a map of New Zealand and the date “15.03.19” show up. Although she’s attempting to show her support with the victims, people aren’t having it.
It is hypocritical for you to pick and choose which violence you condemn and which violence you encourage. If you stand against violence, let it be across the board. That would be the human thing to do.

Finally! Your @UNICEF woke up.

Some are a little more passionate about their feelings.
was it not you who was supporting war against an islamic country? kutti kamini we dont need your support https://t.co/baoFKo6sip

Fuck all you two faced people that side with Muslims when itās convenient for you, but spend the rest of your time vilifying us, and dehumanizing us, and even writing tweets in support of killing us. Fuck You Priyanka. https://t.co/W5HvC2lQh7

While others are straight up calling her a hypocrite and saying she has double standards.

Hello hypocrite.
— TakeMeAway! (@ichaoticmess) March 17, 2019
And honestly, we’re all kinda disappointed.
What I canāt understand is why is your love and prayers only restricted to some specific countries, like Paris, New York, New Zealand, etc. daily 100s of people die in Afghanistan! 100s of lives an families!!! Where is your prayers and concern then??? #Disappointed@priyankachopra

So, while lots are unhappy about what seems to be a hypocritical move from PeeCee, we await a comment from her. Hopefully, it’ll shed light on her intent and will also clear up her role in the whole Pakistan-India tension.
