Recently, Hamza Ali Abbasi confirmed, in what can only be called an essay, that he’s marrying actress Naimal Khawar. The news in itself was great, but then people started deconstructing his essay.
Yup, its true. P.S Massive respect to Naimal for being ok with a Ganja me on Nikkah 🙂♥️ pic.twitter.com/8z9Uns0xo3

The fact that he pretty much stomped on the idea of love and relationships, stating that he’s marrying his “platonic friend” because he wants to strengthen his connection to God – well, it started a debate, as one would expect.
His statement didn’t go down well with a lot of people. Soon people took to Twitter to point out how it was either absurd or problematic.
Hamza Ali Abbasi’s post sounds like the bullshit you come up with when you have to explain Valentines Day gifts to your parents and Mamnoon Hussain

I wish Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khan happiness but let's be real, this note on the marriage written by Hamza is a perfect example of how men expect their partners to be their emotional, spiritual and psychological band-aids.
What a heavy burden to bear. pic.twitter.com/4M4i5e6oMa

a marriage announcement in which the groom professes hate for marriage, for the idea of being in love, and that none of these are his personal problems but how God made him.

Would kick my boy in the nuts and tell him to grow a pair if he told me (and the entire country), that he didn’t believe in marriage and wasn’t in love with me and was marrying me just for a mazhabi flex

Hamza Ali Abbasi: I don't really like to draw attention towards myself but since I work in religious movies like Jawani Phir Nahi Aani and danced on Halal item numbers and basically am the most noorani person in the world who keeps judging others because

Other people interpreted his statement differently.
Hamza Ali Abbasi literally got married to have a friends-with-benefits

However, some people are defending him too.

Just came here to tell you guys that Hamza Ali Abbasi, Naimal, Irfan Junejo, Iqra Aziz or anyone else don’t give a fuck about your opinion. They are humans just like rest of us and they will continue to do whatever the fuck they want. Yall are going to hell for being judgmental.

I don't understand why people have to give opinion about what hamza Ali abbasi posted about his nikkah and walima, no one is saying anything about it being a small gathering, I hope they are nt spending too much because the reasons for which he is getting married seem right,. 1/2
