Mia Khalifa comparing herself to Malala triggered so many people
Former adult film star Mia Khalifa is certainly not an unknown name. With her trademark scarf and bespectacled look she made quite a name for herself and generated controversy for her “Muslim girl” look during her porn movies.
Mia Khalifa is a particularly famous celebrity among desi people
Could be her brown skin, the outwardly-Muslim appearance or could just be the fact that she has an interesting repertoire of movies that her desi fans are particularly inclined toward.
She also has a tendency to court controversy
Her infamous “scarf wali look” is certainly not a coincidence given her Lebanese heritage.
Mia Khalifa recently came under severe criticism for comparing herself to Malala Yousafzai
Yeah, you read that right. Mia Khalifa, the 24 year old social media personality, made a joke about being mistaken for the 18 year old Nobel Laureate and as expected, a whole bunch of people were really, really offended.
Mia posted a “Virgin Mia” photo on her social media with the caption “When a news outlet mistakes Malala for Mia Khalifa”
Mia had posted an image recalling the Virgin Mary, on her Instagram and Twitter, on October 21, 2017.

They thought she took this one a little too far

Many took it as sign of disrespect for Christianity as well, apart from Mia Khalifa and Malala comparisons
The Virgin Mary is a saintly figure, and the mother of Jesus Christ, in the Christian faith and people who follow Christianity felt this photo by Mia Khalifa was “blasphemous”.
While this person made a very dirty joke

Others weren’t in as humorous a mood
Not gonna lie I’m not easily offended but this struck a nerve even if it was a joke I didn’t find it funny

They were cursing her and calling her horrible names in all languages
Many, many people called her a “whore”, in several different languages

Voicing your concern that you find something disrespectful is one thing, going on to call someone such disgusting names is absolutely uncalled for.
Amidst all the craziness, there were a few who did appreciate the humor
Malala Khalifa
