Well, cinema aficionados will be delighted to learn of the inspirational, fun and liberating initiative buoyed by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) under the aegis of Mr. Murtaza Wahab, Chief Administrator for KMC: the outdoor drive-in Sunset Cinema!

The invigorating winter movie and food festival at Sunset Cinema kick off on Friday, November 26, 2021, with a much-anticipated drive-in screening of the 1978 cult classic ‘Grease’ co-starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John for specially-invited celebrities, bloggers and Media near Dua Restaurant Chowrangi next to Beach View Park, Block 3, Clifton. The festival will undoubtedly usher in the festive season with great fanfare and positive energy!

Henceforth, Sunset Cinema will be open to the public from Saturday, November 27th and will run every Saturday and Sunday for the next four weeks showing a slew of timeless and fun classics which are most enjoyed on the Big Screen including ‘Mean Girls’ (6:30 pm to 8:30 pm) and ‘Top Gun’ (9:00 pm to 11:00 pm) on Saturday and ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Back to the Future on Sunday during the same time slots.

One might feel as if one is transported to the retro 1960s when one finds oneself surrounded by about 150 cars which the sprawling Sunset Cinema space can host.

To enhance one’s entertainment experience, apart from enjoying nostalgic classics on a 40ft SMD screen, movie buffs can indulge in their gastronomic desires by perusing the eclectic food court with its myriad of food stalls and popular delicacy brands including Bao Bae, Wing Ting, Adobo offer quick bites; popcorn; snacks; desi chaat, cold drinks and other movie-complementing food staples. Tickets for the film screenings can be purchased online via Ticket Wala and will also be available at the venue, while food vouchers will be available at the venue only.
