It’s lawn season and Junaid Jamshed is in the news again. However, rather unfortunately, he isn’t the center of controversy because of his hypocrisy in words and action where he says something and has an extremely successful fashion empire to his name.
Everyone, by now, is aware of the incident that unfolded somewhere around midnight at Islamabad airport on March 26, 2016. So J. was beaten by some who also had choice words for him and his “slip up” that also went viral a while ago leading him to seek forgiveness from the qoum.
After that happened, the social as well as traditional media erupted into a furor with all and sundry talking, bashing, tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming and vlogging about what happened.
Here’s a glimpse into what Pakistanis think about what happened with Junaid Jamshed:
1. This guy who questioned what scholars are preaching
Sad to see mob attack on #JunaidJamshed, this uncontrolled Islamic preachings needs to be cooled down by scholars Islam does not preach this

2. This politician who wants “religious cleansing” within the country

— Hina Butt (@hinaparvezbutt) March 27, 2016
3. This person who is just plain shocked
Not that I support #JunaidJamshed but assaulting someone is not #ShaneRasool. First they targeted Pervez Rasheed and now JJ.

4. And this one who can’t believe airport security was nowhere

5. This guy sees the irony in the situation
Moment when #JunaidJamshed realized that he was safer in this country as a singer then he now is as a moulana.
— Lord Casanova (@SajjadHashmi) March 27, 2016
6. And this one sees that the future may be very dark
Only a matter of time before we start getting attacked in public places like #JunaidJamshed for wearing jeans because it's too unIslamic.

9. This person has a bit of pent up anger against Junaid Jamshed

12. And this one really makes a point
