By Nai Dulhan | 16 Feb, 2019

Guys, I am SURE you’ve heard of the super catchy 2018 hit, Havana, by Camila Cabello. Yaar matlab, sachi, yeh song sun ke, khuch khuch hota hai yaar!

Well, recently, Camila was in Dubai for the RedFest DXB 2019 festival, which is basically Dubai’s annual pop music festival.

She was joined by many other globally renowned artists, like Macklemore and Alicia Keys.

Amidst all the fun and music, Camila took out time to visit the famous and oh-so-breathtakingly-beautiful, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and the pictures she posted are GORGEOUS.

New Year’s Eve has always been my favorite holiday- even more than Christmas- there’s something so crazy about thinking of all the moments and emotions and people you met and memories you made at the end of the year, and knowing you couldn’t have predicted ANY of it. Realizing that something unexpected happening in a moment changed your day, changed the course of the week, changed your life for that year, and so on…. every single day really is a blank page; and that thought is both terrifying and exactly what it means to be alive. Looking back on this year, I’ve never felt more alive, never felt the experience of being a human more intensely. I’m exhausted. LOL. But that’s how I want it. 2018. I’ve never been more in love with life than I was this year. It’s messy, it’s beautiful, it’s hard, it’s unpredictable, it’s full of hope and dreams and discovering who you are, it’s so damn precious. How the story unfolds is and isn’t under our control- all we can do is decide to show up- no matter how scary it is, no matter what happens…. to see how it turns out. Here’s to a blank page tomorrow. Happy new year ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Camila posted two images of herself, looking up to the beautiful blue skies and the picture perfect Sheikh Zayed Mosque behind her. But what is really intriguing about the pictures is the fact that she is actually donning a hijab.

One of my favorite people Anthony Bourdain once said, “it seems that the more places I experience, the bigger I realize the world to be”- it’s so true, I love the feeling of being humbled by traveling to another place and experiencing a completely different culture, it makes you realize how small your world is in comparison to how big the world actually is; how you’re only living one version in a million of the human experience. But at the same time travel makes you realize we’re not really all that different. i wore a hijab to be respectful when visiting this mosque and at the store this really sweet girl helped me put it on. We didn’t speak the same language, but she was smiling as she helped me, and it felt like she was a close friend. I can’t really describe it, but experiences like this give me such a special feeling of being really close to and really loving people 💕 see you tonight, Dubai 💕💕💕💕💕

Under the photographs, Camila writes that one of her favorite people, Anthony Bourdain once said, “It seems that the more places I experience, the bigger I realize the world to be.”

She also stated that this sentiment was very true and that she loves the feeling of being humbled by travelling to another place and experiencing a completely different culture.

Camila seems to be swooning over the utter beauty and grandeur of the mosque when she states, “It makes you realize how small your world is in comparison to how big the world actually is; how you’re only living one version in a million of the human experience. But at the same time travel makes you realize we’re not really all that different.”

She also addressed the obvious choice of dress in the picture by stating the following:

“I wore a hijab to be respectful when visiting this mosque and at the store, this really sweet girl helped me put it on. We didn’t speak the same language, but she was smiling as she helped me, and it felt like she was a close friend.”

As a perfect ending to her thoughts on her experience at the mosque, Camila stated, “I can’t really describe it, but experiences like this give me such a special feeling of being really close to and really loving people.”

Okay, well you know, although it is compulsory for any female visitor who is visiting the Grand Mosque to show respect to the sanctity of the location by following the hijab and abaya dress code, it’s still pretty commendable that Camila actually went on to post pictures of it on her official Instagram handle.

And you know what is even more delightful? That people are actually LOVING IT!
