Hamza Ali Abbasi Just Schooled A Girl For Dancing To An Item Song On His New Reality Show

By Iman Zia | 17 Jun, 2019

‘Bol Entertainment’ recently launched a reality show, ‘Pakistan Star’ with hosts Kubra Khan, Javed Sheikh and Hamza Ali Abbasi. The show is heavily inspired by international shows like ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘India’s Got Talent,’ and seeks talent across the country.

In the latest episode, a sixteen-year-old contestant appeared on the show and danced to an item song.

Hamza Ali Abbasi schooled the contestant after her performance and condemned her doing an item song to move ahead in the competition;“yeh gand hai, yeh filth hai, yeh ek aisi filth hai ke India bhi apni jaan churwana chaa rahi hai.”

Hamza said “I want to apologize, being a part of the film fraternity,” that girls feel like they need to justify their talent through item songs.

The actor said that many Pakistani directors have this incessant need to place item songs in their films for attention and that it’s a “keera” that must be obliterated.

Javed intervened and asked what kind of song she should be able to dance to, to which Hamza said that she can dance on anything, but an item song.

Hamza’s comments have been receiving lots of positive feedback, with Pakistanis lauding his stance on children dancing to item songs.
