Yesterday the iconic match of Pakistan vs India which both countries were heavily looking forward to took place. Matches between both countries are always the most anticipated and yesterday was no exception.
Pakistanis already had an idea that our team wouldn’t be the best
Considering the entire country was praying that it rains in Manchester.

And usually tempers run high from fans of both India and Pakistan’s cricket team which leads to a lot of banter on the internet. And when one team loses, the other celebrates their loss more than their own victory. But yesterday’s match was a little different.
Maybe it was because it was fairly obvious that India would win which helped Pakistanis prepare for it and accept the defeat more easily
Which is probably why Congratulations India has been trending in Pakistan since last night! And honestly I was a little surprised at how well Pakistan was taking the loss and how people were embodying the sportsman spirit one expects from the fans of what is deemed a ‘gentleman’s game’.

Honestly, it is heartwarming to see all this respect for India’s cricket team coming from Pakistanis and I honestly would have never expected it looking at the past where fans of the losing team get even more upset when they lose and lash out at the other team.
It might have had something to do with how gracious and appreciative Indian fans were of Pakistani fans and the memes they had made about their own team. Oh well, whatever it was, I am glad it happened.
