And now, we also have some badass female bikers driving that point home. But, doing just that – to undertake the task of traveling across Pakistan especially as a woman, that too on bikes and alone – is not an easy feat.
However, Guliashan Tariq has no time to care about these set norms.

Despite the patriarchal barriers of ‘social acceptability’
While pursuing a degree in software engineering, the woman of steel has explored far-flung areas like Swat, Mansehra, Chitral and Upper/Lower Dir with her one true companion: her motorbike.
She’s out there, doing what she loves, breaking barriers and stereotypical norms in the process but that’s not her objective. Guliashan is looking to portraying Pakistan in a positive light while venturing out to enjoy sunsets from a new horizon. After all, in a country that is unfortunately known to be rather unkind towards its women, she is helping show a positive side of Pakistan.
And she seems to be having a pretty great time while doing so, too.
Now, Guliashan is on a new mission: conquering Punjab, one engine revving at a time.
