Fawad Chaudhry, Sushma Swaraj and the art of apne kaam se kaam rakhna
While it appears that the India-Pakistan situation may be getting cooler now, things are still not exactly calm. The recent incident about the forced conversion of two Hindu girls and meddling questions from officials on the Indian side don’t help the situation, at all.
So according to news, two Hindu girls were allegedly abducted and forcefully converted to Islam
It was said that the girls were then married to Muslim men and were sent from Ghotki to Rahim Yar Khan. PM Khan ordered a thorough investigation of the case and further asked to retrieve the girls. Here’s the news:
According to the tweet, the prime minister also directed the Sindh government to take concrete steps against such incidents [of abduction and forced conversions].

But chowkidar Sushma Swaraj raised concerns about the forced conversions in Pakistan
She said that she has instructed the Indian High Commissioner based in Pakistan to send a report on the matter
— Chowkidar Sushma Swaraj (@SushmaSwaraj) March 24, 2019
Fawad Chaudhry immediately responded asserting that this is an INTERNAL issue of Pakistan and India has NO right to interfere in the internal affairs of the country
He further said that the Naya Pakistan is capable enough to safeguard the rights of minorities. He also mocked the clandestine operation of hinduvata politics hidden under the cover of ‘secularism’.
Mam its Pakistin internal issue and rest assure its not Modi’s India where minorities are subjugated its Imran Khan’s Naya Pak where white color of our flag is equally dearer to us.I hope you ll act with same diligence when it comes to rights of Indian Minorities https://t.co/MQC1AnnmGR

People were surprised how India had the audacity to interfere in the internal matters of Pakistan
“ Ghar mey Ghus kar Maar khaanay “ kay baad Ab India-Walay 🇮🇳 humaray Ghar may interfere karna shuru ho gay hain. Not Acceptable ! 🚫🚫🚫
— Faeza Dawood (@FaezaDawood) March 24, 2019
And they urged Sushma to focus on Indian matters
@SushmaSwaraj with due respect you need to focus within #India first and meet with your interior minister to get a brief on the horrific details of misery and plight of minorities. #Pakistan PM @ImranKhanPTI has taken notice and issued necessary instructions.

A few tried to draw the attention of the Indian Minister towards the state-sponsored terrorism in Indian held Kashmir
Sushma Swaraj mam, Why dont u take notice of a muslim family lynched in Haryana over petty issue of cricket and those kashmiri youth beaten up by your goons of RSS?? FOCUS MAM. U HAVE GOT ur country and muslim minorities to look after. #ispr#pakistanzindabad
— Maheen (@Mahinjafri) March 24, 2019
People reminded Sushma that Muslims in India still suffer because of Hindu oppression so she might want to focus on that
Chokidarni @SushmaSwaraj you have to stop the drama we know the dirty face of Indian RSS Hindus terrorist who attacked on Muslim house and beat them brutally. you have to take strict action against those terrorist rather to focus your dirty eyes on Pakistan.

shame on you @SushmaSwaraj that you can't see your minority rights in ind 😠

The Indian Minister couldn’t really hold back her frustration and responded to Fawad
She claimed that a mere demand for the report made the Pakistani minister worried.
Mr.Minister @fawadchaudhry – I only asked for a report from Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad about the kidnapping and forced conversion of two minor Hindu girls to Islam. This was enough to make you jittery. This only shows your guilty conscience. @IndiainPakistan
— Chowkidar Sushma Swaraj (@SushmaSwaraj) March 24, 2019
And she had to hear from more Pakistanis asking her to stop with her meddling questions
Where is he jittery? Madam Swaraj, with due respect, our information minister is used to taking criticism and flack from all corners in one go without ever being jittery. However, I will be grateful if you allow journalists like me access to Indian occupied Kashmir. Regards.
— Fe'reeha Idrees (@Fereeha) March 24, 2019
Pakistanis also asserted that they can fully protect their minorities
Phely apny mulak ko tou dekh loo jiss k 25 tukary honay waly hain…
Jahan tum jaisy chand logo ny bera garak ki howa
Rahi baat hmarai tou jo white color hai hamary flag mai hum uski parwah karna janty hain
— Waqas Amjad (@Waqas_amjad) March 24, 2019
How do you know it's forceful abduction/conversation or wishful marriage when you are still waiting for initial reports.
Don't assume that rest of the world is an idiot. Stop putting spin on your agenda. We exactly know how eager you are to mlign Pakistan international image.
— Tanveer Aslam (@tan_aslam) March 24, 2019
The prompt response by Fawad Chaudhry needs to be appreciated. Indian authorities need to understand that Pakistan is a sovereign state which is fully capable of protecting its citizens which include minorities too thus no Indian interference will be ever welcomed. In reference to the case of those Hindu girls, The PM has already issued orders to confirm the details of the matter.
We already know that the situation between the two countries is very tense, statements like the way Sushma made aren’t going to help any side so it’s best to stay in your own lane and keep your cool, focusing on one’s own house.
