Faisalabad Just Ranked As The World's Third Most Polluted City And That's A Shame

Faisalabad so polluted it ranks third highest in the world

Faisalabad, the third most populous city in Pakistan, is known for its textile industries. For the last few years, it is being reported for its worse air quality and pollution because of the rampant industrial growth in the region and unchecked air quality control standards.

Faisalabad is so polluted that it is now ranked as the 3rd most polluted city in the world

In a ranking of the most polluted cities in the world compiled using data from last year Faisalabad ranked third behind two Indian cities. Gurugram and Ghaziabad. Lahore is ranked at the 10th position.

Interestingly, all but one of the top 15 positions in the list of “most polluted cities in the world” are occupied by cities in India and Pakistan.

Indian cities have occupied most of the slots. The list clearly indicates that South Asian cities are among the world’s most polluted regions. But Faisalabad being ranked at the third for its pollution is totally not okay.

Faisalabad is the industrial hub of Pakistan. The rapid influx of industries combined with their hazardous emissions may be the reason that the city is the third most polluted one.

According to The IQAir AirVisual 2018 World Air Quality Report, Faisalabad has three times more air pollutants than the concentration levels regarded as healthy by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Meanwhile, people had a lot to say about this development

The climate change is real and it’s time Pakistanis actually pay some real attention if you want to live long enough to see a future beyond the next 10 years

People are demanding action but sadly they won’t do anything themselves to help make small contributions that are within their own control

If appropriate action isn’t taken for this grim situation, chances are that it will worsen with each passing year. South Asia is reported to be the most rapidly deteriorating region in the world in terms of livability. It is also being reported as the worst affected by climate change. It is high time, that all governments and the environmental authorities of this region start to put their heads together. Stop throwing around petty politics because we need to implement regulations like fuel combustion by industries for the future of our children or we will all die selfish, hard deaths.

A Pakistan City Just Ranked As The World’s Second Hottest And Itโ€™s Time You Paid Some Actual Fucking Attention Now

Congratulations Lahore, You Rank The Highest For Air Pollution. We Beat India, Again
