Diljit Dosanjh was forced to cancel concert for a terrible reason

Singer and actor Diljist Dosanjh has quickly become a favorite of Punjabis everywhere. His movies Jutt and Juliet 1 and 2 are two of the biggest hits in the history of Punjabi cinema, on both sides of the border and around the world.

Diljit Dosanjh found himself in a pickle when he was recently forced to cancel a concert because the organizer was a Pakistani

Federation of Western India Cine Employees recently issued a letter concerning his scheduled show in the US on September 21st. The “event” supporting Diljit Dosanjh’s show was being promoted by a Pakistani national, Rehan Siddiqi.

FWICE showed “concern” regarding Mr. Diljit Dosanjh’s prior engagement with a Pakistani National, Rehan Siddiqi, who has been promoting an event happening in the US on September 21st. Diljit Dosanjh was to perform on this event and this does not sit well with FWICE as they immediately went on “alert”.

After notice was taken by Indian authorities Diljit was asked to cancel the show

FWICE took no time in voicing their opinion and dislike regarding this engagement and told Diljit Doshan to cancel the engagement solely because of it being on an event promoted by a Pakistani national.

Not only that, Diljit Dosanjh’s visa to the US was also revoked

FWICE wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs of India to revoke the singer’s visa for it to be a lesson for all those who have forgotten their moral duty”. Damn!

They even called this possible performance of Diljit Doshan as anti-national

FWICE bluntly said that they “have zero tolerance for such performers and condemn it as anti-national and unpatriotic bordering to treason with your own country”. They believe that his performance on the invitation of a Pakistani will set a wrong precedent in view of the current alarming situation between the two countries.

The letter was sent to the Ministry on September 3rd, accompanied by a copy of the poster. The letter, whilst accepting the credibility of talented Diljit Dosanjh, stated that the singer was allured into this by Rehan Siddiqi.

Because of all the drama Diljit Dosanjh announced postponing the show

After such a reaction regarding his show, Diljit Dosanjh decided to postpone the show and also give a reply regarding the letter issued by FWICE.

Diljit Dosanjh, in his Tweet, stated that his contract was with Shri Balaji Entertainment and not with any Pakistani national. He clarified that all of his dealings and agreements were only with this ONE particular entertainment group.

He ended the reply with patriotic sentiments.

Phew…what a pickle to be in!  What do you think of the letter issued by FWICE and Diljit’s response to it? Do let us know in the comments below.
