TAKE THAT MCDONALDS!

Burger King just officially launched a line of ‘Real Meals,’ inspired by literally, a number of moods.

Brilliant.

In efforts to address the importance of mental health, the Big Mac franchise has released a number of new meals fit for every mood.

Everything from the Pissed Meal and the Blue Meal to the YAAAS Meal and the DGAF Meal, these meals are meant to show the fact that people don’t always need to be happy and that it is okay to feel a number of emotions. The brand partnered with Mental Health America and decided that May would be the launch month, given that it is also Mental Health awareness month.

So far it seems that the meals have been taking the world by storm, as the awareness of mental health has made itself a priority, especially in 2019.

I mean how nice is it that when you’re pissed off or DGAF, there is a specific meal to eat.

However, not so subtly, the fact that Burger King came out with an ‘Unhappy meal’ does throw some shade to McDonalds, the original ‘Happy Meal’ crew.

We are all familiar with the concept of a Happy Meal and how though it’s been tailored for kids, adults enjoy it as well. But the fact that Burger King came out with a line of Unhappy Meals, instead of a Happy Meal, yikes. That is a fast food war waiting to happen.

Hopefully, both the mega brands will put any kind of beef away (pun absolutely intended) and realise the importance of the greater mental health good. This is the month for everyone and it is beautiful especially now that there is food involved.
