After almost two years of painfully waiting for our beloved HBO show to return, the titan ‘Game Of Thrones’ finally debuted its final season last night, and despite it being a relatively lighthearted episode (much to the dismay of its bloodcurdling, raw-hungry fans), there was one defining moment that stood out…and naturally became the premise of countless memes on social media soon after.
*SPOILER ALERT*
While Jon Snow finally found out he’s the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, thus making him the heir the Iron Throne, Arya Stark finally reunited with Gendry (!!!) and The Hound – also, in a more darker reveal, Samwell Tarly learned that the Khaleesi (Daenerys Targaryen) literally set his brother and father on fire with her dragon. However, Bran bechara was given no leeway for development – except him meeting someone very, VERY special…In the most pivotal moment of the season, eight’s first episode was when Bran saw his ‘old friend’ Jaime Lannister. If you recall, this was the first time Bran and Jaime meet, after Bran was pushed out a window by Jaime for seeing him engage in incestual intercourse with Cersei).
How did Jaime enter Winterfell?
Jaime sneaked into Winterfell on horseback, veiled by his cape after leaving Cersei back in King’s Landing (in the previous season finale). Bran is ironically the first person to see him and was expecting him in his wheelchair. This screengrab was THAT moment he saw Bran…
While we were given lots of developments with other characters, Bran, now known as the ‘Three-Eyed Raven,’ was just a mantlepiece giving empty stares and just being downright creepy.
I mean, we know Bran has it the worst, what with his visions and the fact that he is now an all-knowing, hypnotic old man trapped in a young boy’s body – but his eerie nature throughout the episode did NOT go unnoticed…Bran was even trending on Twitter!!!
