Soni Razdan, Ali Bhatt’s mother, is currently promoting her upcoming movie No Fathers In Kashmir. The film is shot in Kashmir, and is about two 16 year olds who retrace their roots while looking for their father.
Soni was asked in interviews about the disputed territory of Kashmir, which related to her upcoming movie, she said there is no cultural balance
Somehow her comments ended up angering Indian citizens. However, she was ready for it. Soni Razdan, herself, said in an interview on IANS, “When you are attempting to tell an honest story that does not fit the current, popular narrative, you should be mentally prepared for the trouble coming along with it.”
Many Indians have not liked what Soni Razdan had to say about Kashmir
“Ab jab mein aisi baatein karti hoon toh log mujhe deshdrohi (anti-national) keh kar Pakistan behjna shuru kar dete hain,” she said.
“Bhagate hain log mujhe, bohat baar mujhe logon ne kaha kay tum Pakistan jao, lekin meri tarah ki soch rakhne wale bohat zyada log hain, isliye mujhe isse koi zyada fark nahi parta hai kay kaun kya kehta hai.” Soni Razdan explained.
She said she has even thought of coming to Pakistan
“Kabhi kabhi main sochti hoon ki haan, mujhe Pakistan hi chale jana chahiye, main bohat khush rahungi Pakistan jaa kar.”
Pakistanis are excited to hear the news about Soni Razdan’s reaction to the Indian population asking her to leave India. Both sides took to twitter to express their opinions.
