Ali Saleem, more lovingly known as Begum Nawazish Ali, captured hearts across Pakistan when she was a regular feature of Pakistani TV. Ever since the show was taken off the air, there were some pretty intense downs in the guy’s life. He was embroiled in a property battle with his mom, after which he was charged for assault.

News just broke that Ali Saeem was arrested because he was in possession of alcohol.

The story is that the Karachi police raided a bungalow where Ali Saleem was with his friends. In this raid, the police found alcohol and also apparently found Ali Saleem performing ‘suspicious’ activity. God knows what that means!

Our very own Meera Jee just came forward with a statement in support of Ali Saleem. 

According to Meera, she was in the bungalow with Ali Saleem and other when the raid happened. She claims they were all shooting for a film and that there were many props lying around.

‘The set was ready and our shooting was canceled after the incident. We have no idea where Ali is right now’ added the actress in her statement following the news of Ali Saleem’s arrest. She also asked for the actor to be released; ‘I would like to request the government to release him and arrest the actual criminals, not artists. We are innocent and hardworking’.
