11 Things Every Pakistani Has Done That Are Actually Pretty Extremist, But In The Best Way

By MangoBaaz Studio | 27 Jul, 2019

In recent times, the world has come to associate Pakistan with terrorism and extremism. With social media blowing up the way it has, Pakistanis world over are trying to change that perception. Part of that is celebrating what makes us uniquely Pakistani, all the extreme things we do on a daily basis.

Recently, Coca Cola took this concept one step further with the campaign that celebrates how extremist Pakistanis can be. The ad shows us a great way to take ownership of how extreme we can be, and be oh so proud of it.

Being Pakistani means to be extreme in some ways. May it be with our emotions or our actions, and here are some ways we’ve all been extremists in our life:

1. Entire families go to the airport to pick up relatives who’ve come from abroad.

Families are extremely giving when it comes to giving love, and this is just one tiny instance of it.

2. A Pakistani dawat can never be small!

If you’ve ever had a dawat at your house, you know that is can get pretty intense, pretty fast. Plus the spread is just extremely large. Matlab, who will eat all this food? Where’s my class of thandi coke?

3. If a guest ever stays over, we go above and beyond to make sure they’re comfortable.

People are often moving out of their rooms to make room for a guest, and it’s all so normal for us to do.

4. We all have an EXTREME love for Biryani!

5. The very concept of dance practices before a wedding is pretty intense.

Just say the word, ‘shaadi’, and poof, we have dance practices going on everywhere. What’s shocking is that NO one gets upset or annoyed at them.

6. We as Pakistanis are extremely supportive of our cricket team.

Despite everything we’ve been through with the team, we’re always singing our favorite cricket songs and cheering them on.

7. People all over Pakistan have an extreme love for rain and especially the monsoon season.

Whenever we see badal rolling in, we all get a little excited. Everyone floods social media with stories and pictures. When it finally rains, people of all ages stop their day to just take in the weather; eat some pakoray and drink some Coke.

8. When guests say they’re leaving, they actually leave like 5 hours later.

If standing at the door with no end in sight isn’t extreme, don’t know what is

9. We go all out on Bakra Eid, and even dress up the goat!

10. Our Ammas and all the duas they pray when we’re stepping out of the house.

It’s all in good intention and for our own benefit, it’s a form of extreme love!

11. Every choda August we go all out.

From decorating our homes to wearing Independence Day appropriate clothes!

Pakistan has been tarnished by the international community’s perception of us. People think Pakistan is wrought with terrorism, however, the truth is far from that. Coca Cola’s ad is just one more example of how we can take ownership of how people see Pakistan.

This is the first time Coke has done this. They recently released a rendition of ‘Hum Aik Hai’ over the World Cup which really kept all our spirits up! The song, along with this ad is a great way to help chime in the Azaadi spirit. Let’s own up to our extreme-ness and our Pakistaniyat this upcoming choda August!
