The refurbished version of Disney’s 1992 classic ‘A Whole New World’ just dropped (the end credits version for the live-action remake, that is) and honestly, it’s surprisingly very, very good. Zayn Malik and newcomer Zhavia Ward come together to sing a delectable homage that reignites nostalgia.

The song opens with an impressive Indian melody that left me speechless (it’s mirrored towards the end of the song too), and it’s wonderful to see Zayn release a song after quite some time.

The music video is simple, with two star-crossed lovers played by Zayn and Zhavia – and all the while I couldn’t help but wonder how perfect the film would be if he were cast as Aladdin!

I mean, the female lead cast now doesn’t have Arab roots (she’s half Indian), so clearly, the makers weren’t really casting based on ethnicity!

…Meaning, all the more reason to have had Zayn Malik as the star of the live-action remake! He can sing, I’m sure he can act and hello? He’s really easy on the eyes too!
