Remember a few days back Saba Qamar posted pictures on Instagram, and she looked a LOT like Qandeel Baloch?
And we were like, ‘Could she REALLY be doing this? Playing Qandeel in a biopic, OMG OMG OMG’
Well we just got verification, IT’S TRUE AND WE COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED

Saba Qamar is very excited to portray the story of Qandeel Baloch for us to watch. According to Qamar, ‘Qandeel represented the double standards of our society. She had the courage to show how two-faced people can be’.
In an interview to Dawn Images, Saba Qamar further added:
Qandeel was a victim and a fighter and somebody needs to tell her story. She was a woman who went from place to place trying to find work for herself. She tried to work in transport, read devotional naats on TV but wherever she went, she was misused by people. It was only much later that she chose to make videos on the Internet. And she did all this and earned money and used it to support her family. Her family didn’t have any problems taking money from her but they felt that it was all right to turn around and kill her in the name of honor.
Honestly reading this bring chills down my spine.
When Saba was asked about threats that would come up with her depicting Qandeel she gave this awe-inspiring response
Everyone has to die someday. I’d rather die after doing something worthwhile
If only all of us were this brave Saba. Hum kaha se kaha chalay jatay.
While Saba is taking the lead, other notable actors are also said to be involved in this production. Sarmad Khoosat, Osman Khalid Butt and Ali Kazmi will be part of the cast, according to Dawn Images Umera Ahmed wrote the screenplay and Farooq Rind will be directing.
It’s clear that this cast is amazing, and extremely bold. Best of luck to the team and especially to Saba. You’ve won our hearts, we know you’ll do well. You rock.
