Question of the day:
Is WhatsApp not working?
— Sundar Waqar (@sundar_waqar) July 3, 2019
If you’ve spent the better part of today reconnecting your wi-fi, restarting your phone and refreshing your apps in order to get WhatsApp to start working, you’re not alone.
You’re probably getting this message on your phone.
Is it just me or is everyone facing this error on whatsapp? It occurs on trying to download any sort of media. pic.twitter.com/NHAMhlFIFr

Don’t worry, it’s not just you. The instant messaging service has been down globally all day, along with Facebook and Instagram. Basically, today is not a good day for social media. One thing to note, as this Twitter user put it, is that this is apparently the FOURTH time this year this has happened!
It's the 4th time this year. (in Pakistan)
I wonder what they're upto. https://t.co/I7KGRFPCJE— Khanzada (@ZaeKhanzada) July 3, 2019
Pakistani Twitter, AKA the country’s goldmine of humor, is ALL OVER IT, especially since Twitter is one of the few social media networks not affected.

While Facebook has yet to release an official statement (they can only do it on Twitter right now LOL) a number of news websites have reported that the systems are apparently down for maintenance. So head outside, read a book, talk to your family maybe? In a few hours, you’ll be sucked back into endless groups, chats, and stories anyway.
