Virat Kohli trolled for trying to rap lol
Virat Kohli is pretty much the ‘it’ guy when it comes to Indian sports and entertainment.
His face is all over the country, everything from athletic lines to toothpaste brands, he has consumers wrapped around his marketing savvy finger. Kohli alone made about $20 million dollars last year solely through endorsements.
That’s what we call big money, people and obviously, he knows how to pick em. However, it is impossible to ensure that every ad is a straight six. Cricket humor? No?
Kohli’s new ad or lol, rap battle, is being HEAVILY trolled and the jokes are absolutely savage.
How much Virat?
Just how much did your dignity cost? https://t.co/H2Bzxz7Uss

The ad, for Himalaya Men, featured both Virat and fellow cricket team member Rishab Pant in promoting the line’s new face wash for pimples and acne.
Watch me and @RishabPant777 team up with @HimalayaMEN to take care of the one problem that keeps coming back. PIMPLES! #HimalayaMenPimplesGottaGo #LookingGoodAndLovingIt #VIRATxRISHABH pic.twitter.com/Pj4qetiOX1

Kohli is the ambassador of the brand and of course, had to comply with whatever the brand wanted him to
But lol, what the fuck was the brand even thinking in the first place with this one.
Honestly, I mean this whole ad was truly so so bad.
The awkward rap and the weird eye contact, just so awkward and just, no
I’m sure the banter and way of promoting the product was ‘cool’ in the eyes of Himalaya, but for Kohli and Rishab Pant, it just meant a free ride on the troll train.
Good god, what a horrendous advert. https://t.co/kWRgNB6buI

Lmaaao, clearly, the commercial missed the mark and wasn’t able to deliver what was intended by the brand but lol, on the bright side, it did attract enough attention on Twitter, both good and bad. No such thing as bad publicity, right?
