Here's What These 13 Pakistanis Think About Islamabad High Court's Ban On Valentine's Day

By Iman Zia | 13 Feb, 2017

The Islamabad High Court has no chill. In perfect timing, it’s banned all forms of Valentine’s Day celebrations, just hours after we got confirmation that a note in the name of Shehbaz Sharif against Valentine’s Day celebrations was fake AF. A day before the most romantic day of the year, we’re no longer allowed to express anything remotely lovey-dovey, not only on social media but in all public places.

I think they’re being utterly ridiculous, but that’s my personal (and sane) opinion.

Some agree that banning a day for love is outright unjust. There are bigger problems in Pakistan than Valentine’s Day.

Taking the kids out to celebrate the 14th could be something couples with children do…because…well…

Others still see light at the end of the dark tunnel

Non public places are still up for the taking…until the government bans those too:

We have some who’ve found humor amidst it all

Sherry, babe we feel you…

We’ve got some singletons who couldn’t be happier…

Some think banning one day out of the year will stop Pindi boys from being their usual creepy self…

Some TV anchors need a little sex ed…

And we have this guy who didn’t really get the memo

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Oh wait sorry, can’t say that anymore. Thanks Islamabad High Court.

What do you guys think about the ban? Is it justified?
