Imran Khan is currently on an official tour in the United States. He arrived in the United States on Saturday afternoon for his three day work-trip. During his stay, he will be staying at the Pakistani ambassador’s residence in Washington, at the diplomatic enclave.

The government has repeatedly promised that the trip will not cost more than $60,000 and to curb costs, PM Imran Khan took a commercial flight instead of chartering an entire plane.

Accompanying Imran Khan are Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Director General of the ISI. He attended a community event at the Capital One Arena in Washington where thousands of people came to see the Prime Minister. The excitement of the crowd was palpable and images and videos of the American jalsa went viral.

A lot of Pakistanis back home were confused about why everyone in the crowd was so excited.

A number of people had some ideas about why the crowd was so energetic.

Now that the much awaited jalsa is done, people are eagerly awaiting Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting with Donald Trump tomorrow.

As the Prime Minister prepares for his various meetings tomorrow including one with President Donald Trump, the ‘diaspora’ community in America is busy planning another show of solidarity for him. They are now planning to gather outside of the White House when the Prime Minister is expected to visit to show their support to him. Yep, you read that right.

But honestly, it’s trending on Pakistani Twitter. Not in America so we’re not exactly sure how many Pakistanis will actually show up outside the White House to extend their support to Prime Minister Imran Khan. But I am interested to see what happens both when the Prime Minister arrives at the White House and when he meets President Donald Trump. It is bound to be interesting.
