The Internet is a very interesting place with heated debates taking place daily. The latest topic of contention is rather intriguing; it’s about the female muscular system.
Science books in school have shown images of what the human body would look like and it uses the male body as an example
We have all seen these in our science books back in school.
But did you ever wonder if the female muscle system would be different because, well, women have breasts?
If you ever, even for a second, wondered about how the female body’s muscle system looks, well wonder no more because this is what it looks like.

And if you’re confused, well you’re not alone! A lot of people were taken aback by this image and thought it was a picture of flowers.

But some other people did NOT think that this image looked like flowers, in fact, a lot of women were VERY freaked out.

To be honest, even I don’t feel fully comfortable with knowing that THIS is inside my body right now. And someone very smartly pointed out that our aversion to this image might be because of how used to we are to seeing only the male muscle system.
Maybe it’s only freaking people out because it’s not normalized because of the patriarchy showing us a man’s biology in class.

I think if I had grown up looking at this image, I would not feel so weird about seeing this all of a sudden at the age of 24. And honestly, it’s sad that women themselves had no idea that this is what their anatomy looks like. Clearly, this shows how male-centric even our education is and how female bodies need to be included more as well.
