This Muslim Woman Was Forced to Leave From a Trump Rally

By Ali Ahsan | 9 Jan, 2016

Rose Hamid, a 56-year old Muslim flight attendant, was ejected from a Trump rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, after she stood up in a silent protest. Wearing a hijab and a t-shirt that said “Salam, I come in peace” Rose stood up in the seats right behind Trump.

Rose told CNN that before Trump came on stage, people were very nice and cordial to her. Things changed, however, as Rose stood up in silent protest after Trump started talking about Syrian refugees.

People who had been welcoming turned on her.

There were chants booing her, with some people yelling at her to get out. One person even told Rose that she was carrying a bomb.

She didn’t let the angry chants get to her.

“I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one.”

After all that happened, Rose still thought positively about the character of most people. She didn’t blame the people booing her, but instead blamed Trump and his rhetoric of hatred.

“This demonstrates how when you start dehumanizing the other it can turn people into very hateful, ugly people,” she said. “It needs to be known.”

Respect.
