There are some good people in this.
Tensions between India and Pakistan have been extremely high this past week. Following the attack in India occupied Kashmir in Pulwama, citizens on both sides of the border have been doing their best to show hostility. Though no real war has actually commenced, a sort of cyberwar is in full swing on social media accounts in both countries.
Yet, among the enemies, it seems we do have some common friends.
These Pakistanis have started an ‘Anti-Hate Challenge’ in efforts to show their support to Indians all across social media.

The ‘Anti-hate’ challenge is pushing both Pakistanis and Indians to look at the peace among them and showing people in India that the violence in Kashmir was condemned by Pakistan from the start. Started by journalist Sehyr Mirza wrote, “I won’t trade humanity for patriotism.”
According to Sehyr also said, ‘We’re deeply disturbed over the tragic terror attack that claimed innocent lives in Kashmir. We have initiated this #AntiHateChallenge to not only condemn the attack but also express solidarity with our Indian friends. Requesting Pakistani fellows, who share our feelings, please, join in.”
The only reason that the hate spewed was because of the fact that India began to punish Pakistanis for a crime that they quite possibly didn’t even commit in the first place.
Instead of pushing the idea of hate against India, these Pakistanis are promoting peace towards our friends on the other side of Wagah.
And it seems as though some Indians have noticed the gesture and responded with love
Thank you friends from #Pakistan for this message of condolence and peace. Laudable initiative by young Pakistanis. We hear you! 🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️❤️ #Pulwama pic.twitter.com/pJIZKI2c5O

This isn’t the first time that people of India and Pakistan have chosen to show love instead of hate during tense times between the two countries
In 2015 when political tension between the two countries were high, people across both sides of the border had started a #ProfileForPeace initiative that was meant to go against the hatred that was being spewed by the governments of the two countries.
This is the kind of positivity we need in a time like this and thanks to Sehyr and everyone else taking part in the challenge. Have you seen the campaign? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
