It has been a long time coming, but the new Islamabad Airport has officially opened and is up for service.
Yaaaaassssssssss.
After a long wait of literally 11 years, the airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday, the 1st of May. What better way to celebrate the beginning of travel season than with the opening of an airport, NAI!?
Hehe, well anyway.
Though most of us haven’t personally been to the airport yet, thanks to the Internet, we have pictures of it instead.
AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
LIKE WOW, did not expect to be this in love with a building before but hello, it is flawless.
Not to mention the fact that it is SO CLEAN. And yes, this may seem a little silly to say, but if any of you have been to a Pakistani airport or ANY airport for that matter, you know how nice it is to set into clean and shiny surroundings.

Haye, look at those interiors. The lights, the furniture, the MOSAICS!? Now, this is the Pakistan we want the world to see as soon as they step into our cities.

It seems this cell phone charging station allows you to plug in your phone and leave it inside while you do you, and allows you to retrieve your device using a personalized fingerprint verification system.

Suffice to say, the new airport has been anticipated for, for quite some time and we can’t be happy and proud enough that it has officially opened. Love it.
