What started off as a joke on Facebook evolved into a meme and eventually became a hilarious reality. People started signing up to volunteer for a raid on one of the most secure bases of the world – Area 51! However, the hype soon died out…till recently. People legit went and raided Area 51. Well…Kind of.
Alien fanatics gathered at the remote site, Naruto-running into trying to discover aliens.

Residents of the area, however, prepared for the worst.
The residents and well, the authorities also, warned people that the event could become a disaster as people struggled with the difficult conditions in Nevada without proper preparation.
A Resident, Joerg Arnu, said that UFO hunters showing up in shorts and flip-flops won’t be protected in the chill overnight temperatures, or “against critters, snakes, and scorpions”.

But the folks there thought ke full party scene hai.
Makeshift festivals were planned, and eventually canceled because of the threat of potential disaster, but I think people thought this was like sasta Coachella or something.
Regardless, it seemed like people were having fun.

People showed up with posters and placards – and they were pretty funny.
Though the event overall was a bit underwhelming according to many, the fact that it legit happened is insane. God bless meme culture. Would you have taken part in the raid? Let us know.
