Sanam Jung was recently called onto ‘Express Entertainment’s’ Ramazan transmission with host Imran Abbas where she talked about her recent Umrah experience. Sanam recently announced her comeback to Pakistani dramas after she stepped down as a good morning show host.
Sanam said recalled her time as a Ramazan host where her guests would often share their Umrah experiences.
She would always hear similar accounts of tears and disarray arriving in Mecca – and for Sanam, it was exactly the same. She said she didn’t think she deserved to experience it all, saying she felt she hadn’t achieved much in life.
Sanam almost wasn’t able to go on Umrah, because she hadn’t gotten her visa yet.
Her husband insisted that they go to Singapore instead, but Sanam’s heart was longing to go to Mecca. When they finally got to Madina, Sanam was still in disbelief and was still waiting to reach Mecca.
As soon as Sanam reached Riaz-ul-Jannah and couldn’t stop crying. She reminisced how she went into sajda and felt like she was in a dream.
It was a struggle for her because her daughter wouldn’t stop crying amidst such rush, but then by Allah’s miracle, she fell asleep. Sanam also took this oppurtunity to condemn how people are quick to judge others and their level of piety based on the clothes that they wear – she said being religious or not is a personal matter, and no one has any right to judge you for it.
