Mahira has been getting the brunt of the social media ‘shit-storm’ because apparently a woman smoking is quite possibly the worst thing that could happen.

Today, Ranbir Kapoor came out in support of Mahira and called out all the trolling and character bashing ‘unfair’

In an official statement, Ranbir says that he’s gotten to know Mahira really well on a personal level. She is someone he admires professionally but also for the type of person she is.

He further goes on to say, “It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman.”

Ranbir ends his statement on a rather lovely note. 

“I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to health”

This one picture has dominated the entirety of Pakistan and India’s social media all because one woman is smoking. Mahira Khan has build her acting career from scratch and has proven herself to be a force in the entertainment industry.

It’s really disheartening to see how so many years in the limelight have been reduced to this one photo. It’s her life, and she has the freedom to do what she wants. You are nobody to defame, denounce and destroy her personality and personal life.
