Politicians in Pakistan just had a joint session over Kashmir issue and displayed pathetic behavior
Pakistanis have been gripped with fear and empathy for Kashmiris and people all over the world are watching as India removes Kashmir’s special status and what exactly this will mean for the future of those living in Kashmir. People expected staunch response from the Pakistani government on the matter but there has yet to be any concrete action taken on the matter.
So, politicians in Pakistan had a joint session today, people were expecting that the government and opposition would unanimously come to an agreement about what to do about the gross injustice which was happening in Kashmir or at the very least talk about it.
But the attitude of the politicians during the Pakistan joint session of both houses was terrible today because even the Prime Minister was apparently late to the session itself.
His delay in arrival for what is a critical joint session — if he has arrived — just goes to show how bloody serious he is about running this country. (Not at all.) https://t.co/SvpwR9Fx8X

And people demanded to know where Prime Minister Imran Khan was and what could be more important than this Parliamentary session.
Members of the opposition signed a letter for the Prime Minister to be produced for the session before he eventually arrived.

Where the hell is PM Imran Khan? He need's to be at the joint session of the parliament to give a policy statement.

Even when the joint session began, the debate and topics under discussion did not prove to be anything useful or pertaining to the matter at hand.
Politicians in Pakistan at the joint session were absolutely non-serious and that’s not okay.
Disappointing visuals from the National Assembly.
Confusion in the government ranks, point scoring and petty politics by the opposition.
That is all our parliamentarians have to show at this watershed moment of kashmir cause.

Shocked to see no Foreign minister or Prime Minister present to lead one of the most crucial debates in the history of Pakistan’s parliament. What message r we getting? That India’s attempt to annex IOKashmir is not important? ….. what msg government coveying…?

People were incredibly upset at how the politicians were behaving in such a petty way and not really doing anything.
The Opposition was creating chaos and the Government was not taking charge as bi-partisan leaders.
Yes, i agree, the grace of parliament is being destroyed by parliamentarians themselves. And then they complain why military doesn't respect them

PM not in attendance at the Parliament session, opp protests b/c govt resolution doesn't specifically mention Art. 370, only 'illegal actions' by India in Kashmir.
This is the state which acts like Kashmir's saviour and promises 'political, diplomatic and moral' support.

Hell with these representatives…. we are so dumb tht we always elect such illiterate ppl by vote who doesn’t have any education or any morality both govt and opposition

I’m really ashamed as Pakistani

Some people blamed the opposition for disrupting the session and not letting any constructive conversations take place.
Is opposition ko parliament mein nahi maveshi mandi mein baandhna chahiye!

According to Dawn.com, the opposition caused a lot of ruckus in terms of chants against the government and the resolution they were trying to pass. And even when they had been assured their demands will be met and the inclusion they wanted in the resolution added, they still did not entirely quiet down.
In such a trying time for the people of Kashmir, where Pakistan plays a big role it is honestly disheartening to see politicians in Pakistan during joint session play this situation to their own advantage.
