This is our Prime Minister? Seriously?
Imran Khan just referred to Bilawal Zardari as ‘Sahiba’ on national television and Pakistanis do not think it’s funny.

In an address to the public in South Waziristan, Imran Khan called Bilawal Zardari, ‘Bilawal Sahiba‘ in what seemed to be in efforts to rile up the crowd and belittle Zardari to his fans.
As a politician in this country, this kind of tactic is quite normal. In fact, in every country, politics can get ugly. However as the Prime Minister of a nation, this kind of behavior towards an equal citizen is absolutely unacceptable. No matter what opposing political party Bilawal is from, he is still a citizen of Pakistan. A citizen of Imran Khan’s supposed ‘Naya Pakistan,’ at that.
Almost immediately, the internet has reacted to Khan’s words with disgust and disappointment.
In very poor taste to refer to @BBhuttoZardari as "sahiba" i.e. madam, by #PMIKinWana
Would've been undesirable by anyone but #PrimeMinisterImranKhan stooping to this level, new low in #Pakistan politics

Suffice to say, the nation is quite shocked at the remarks of Mr. Prime Minister, especially given the democratic and diplomatic political wave he was most successfully riding. Until now, that is.
Clips and images of his speech have been going viral all over the Internet since then.
#PrimeMinisterImranKhan's sexist remarks about @BBhuttoZardari are extremely poor in taste and quite unbecoming of a Prime Minister. This is wrong on so many levels. pic.twitter.com/c7Kl8SwnmM

Very, very small. Calling Bilawal Bhutto Sahiba (madam) doesn’t belittle him at all. It just demonstrates Imran Khan’s lowness, indecency, and sexism. An insult to the office of the PM.

shame on @ImranKhanPTI for using word "sahiba" for Bilawal Bhutto..you have completely lost ur mind…our Tun PM

Bilawal has always been put down in this country due to his lack of traditional masculinity.
The fact that Bilawal was called ‘Sahiba‘ by our own Prime Minister is so problematic in itself. Khan has given way to everyone else in this country to be discriminatory and truly just an asshole for no reason.
Poor and misogynist statement by pm against @BBhuttoZardari calling him sahiba . We don’t expect this kind of language from anyone and off course PM

Disgusting use of misogynist language by Prime Minister IK against @BBhuttoZardari calling him 'sahiba'. Use of garbage language will make IK's followers happy but it lowers his status & shows how Bilawal's criticism has made the government desperate pic.twitter.com/kdiTzu8gHJ

How are we expected to look up to or trust a leader who is capable of reaching such a low standard.
Of course, many of Imran’s supporters have been nothing but amused at the PM’s remarks.

As we said, Imran is no longer just a political candidate or the head of a Political party. He is the Prime Minister of this country. He has the obligation to stay just, fair and keep the best the interests of ALL of his citizens at heart.
just message to @BBhuttoZardari and request him to please confirm, is he is transgender?
waitting fo his reply #PrimeMinisterImranKhan #Pakistan pic.twitter.com/0i2WhkQRUr

^THIS is the kind of effect his words have on the public.
As Prime Minister this is not the kind of behavior we should be seeing. In fact, this kind of political leadership can only be compared to that of Donald Trump who is pretty much as bad as it gets in placing reform in a country. This goes past the realm of dirty politics. Picking on Bilawal through his personal characteristics is so inappropriate and unnecessary.
The only silver lining we can pull out from this situation is the fact that so many Pakistanis were in outrage over the speech. All hope is not lost and honestly, Imran just needs to get his shit together. ASAP.
