This Women’s Day is bringing something special for Pakistanis on March 8, 2018. Women are planning to take their power to the streets of Pakistan in the form of the Aurat March. The idea of women coming out on the roads has incited debates all over the social media.
The Aurat March has surpassed the stage of being a fantasy. It’s finally a concept reaching completion.
And to quote V, from V for Vendetta: “Ideas are bulletproof.”
The cause is steadily gaining traction as women from all over the country are coming forward. They are not afraid to share their opinions on what the cause means to them.
The Aurat March is scheduled to take place in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. It marks the first step to breaking the shackles of patriarchy in our society. This march aims to raise awareness about the injustices women suffer on a day-to-day basis. They are demanding fulfillment of their fundamental rights to equal wage, reproduction rights, and environmental rights to name a few.

When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes your duty.
The injustice suffered by the women at the hands of patriarchy will not be stopped until we take an active part in resisting. We need to set the standards for an equal society and a safe haven for all. A place where the law of the land is not power, ridicule or harassment, but equality. So, are you ready to resist the injustice of our society?
Join all of us at the Aurat March 2018 to bring the change you want to see. Let’s be our own heroes!
