Many a Pakistani soldiers are engaged in operations around the country. While some are involved in intense battle in Zarb-e-Azb, others are tackling “terrorists” in Punjab. Even the Karachi Rangers are sweeping the city clean, or so we are told.
Traditionally, our army jawaans have always captured our fancy. What with their hard struggle and exhilarating training to fight wars and protect this country.
This Pakistani soldier’s story of an intense encounter in Mohmand Angency will leave you mind-blown
So @TheGutterfly, who is apparently a soldier in the Pakistan Army, tweeted his experience in Mohmand Angency in the wee hours of April 26, 2016 narrating how he once almost got himself killed, thanks to his adrenaline.
Okay so this one time in Mohmand Agency, we were ordered to mop up a valley (clear it off terrorists)
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
But someone had to advance further ahead and penetrate the line of fire. For that, my CO chose me. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
He says he volunteered like a qurbani ka bakra for his very first independently led mission
So I had a squadron of tanks under my command and I was leading the squadron. Slowly creeping further inside their territory @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
We think this is a story worth making a movie out of it
Waar is nothing compared to this intense yet absolutely true story. Sorry, Bilal Lashari.
#Hollywood if you're looking for your next Zero Dark Thirty. @TheGutterfly is your guy!
— Sarmad Amer (@TheRedGlasses) April 26, 2016
Because our “hero” is in the center of an intense battle in Mohmand Agency
There were tanks and heavy machinery in the story
That I have nerves of steel right (bullshit I was scared shitless) but I stood up on the back side of the turret in the open @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And the hero was scared shitless, so there’s the first struggle of the movie right there.
There were friends like foe
The squadrons that were attached with our outfit, they were a part of the FC. And trust me when I say that don't trust the FC @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
Our “hero” has his eyes on you FC boys.
There’s suspense
The terrorists were quiet as the team went deeper into the forest
The idea was to locate the terrorists when they'd fire and then engage them from long distance with my tanks. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And there’s definitely all the action any movie fan would absolutely go crazy over
As I was standing behind the opened cupola and sharing the possibility of an ambush with the tank commander .. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
As a result the tk comdr immediately shut down the cupola and went inside the tk. Now I was out in the open without any cover @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
Our “hero” has philosophical thoughts before his big fight, just like in a movie
When you've faced a lot of fire, you start differentiating among the whizzing sounds of different calibre bullets @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And then the real drama unfolded
And the fact that it pierced the cupola meant only one thing. It was steel coated armour piercing. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
Such intense, much wow
So I'm standing on the tank shouting bhenchod at the top of my voice and I jumped behind the tank and laid my back against @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
There are twists you won’t believe
The fucking driver lost his shit completely and started reversing the fucking tank. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
THE DRIVER!?!
There’s fighting like in a movie
…fire and the tanks engine. So I had only two ways two go. Left or right. Both suicide because I had to expose myself to @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
Our hero even has a heroine in the story
I tried thinking about my mum and dad and girlfriend but they just wouldn't come. I couldn't even make myself think about @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And then toward the end of his intense battle, our hero almost loses all hope
The sun was slowly setting and the evenings chill was taking over the days warmth @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
I had scratches all over my hands and face from jumping in the clump. They were still firing but it was gradually @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
He takes refuge from the enemy in a… wait for it…
Graveyard(Oh yeah, told you this was straight out of the movies)
I dug a little deeper with my hands and bayonet and helmet and filled it up with dried leaves. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And he almost shot is genitals while hiding from the Taliban
My AK on my chest with its muzzle on my crotch, the weapon was unsafe and my finger in the trigger guard @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
After close encounters with the enemies and almost getting caught, he tried establishing contact with his base
The end. @TheGutterfly
— B (@TheGutterfly) April 25, 2016
And he was finally rescued!! Phew. The “hero” lives to fight another day (or star in a movie, maybe? Bilal Lashari, are you reading this?)
Whoa, wasn’t that intense?
