The British Backpacker Society has been counting down through the top 20 adventure destinations throughout 2017.

With everyone anticipating what country would take the number one rank…

Pakistan was ranked the number one adventure travel destination in the world.

When asked why they chose Pakistan to be the number one adventure travel destination:

“Pakistan is one of the friendliest countries on earth, with mountain scenery that is beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. Prepare to be invited into people’s homes, take more selfies than you count, and have every preconception that you ever held about this area of the world changed forever.”

The British Backpacker visited Pakistan in 2016 and traveled from Lahore to Shangrilla and Hunza.

British Backpacker Society’s top tip for visiting Pakistan: “Head north to the astonishing peaks of the Karakoram along the unforgettable Karakoram Highway, probably the world’s greatest road trip.”

They went on to say:

“It is beautiful, exciting and culturally interesting, and travelers are rewarded at the journey’s end-point with perhaps the most beautiful natural sight on earth, the Hunza Valley.”

Pakistanis were super proud of this ranking.
